We are pleased to invite you to attend a CPD seminar, "Covid and the Criminal Law" presented by Paul Kounnas, who practices predominately in criminal law with an emphasis on trial and appeal work in the County and Supreme Courts on Monday 19 October 2020.

Recently Paul appeared in the first Murder (that proceeded as a fitness hearing and later special hearing) to run without a jury in the Supreme Court in the case of R v Munze.

The main topics that will be covered are:

  • How the pandemic has changed the court's response to criminal law
  • New measures and what this means for the future of criminal law in Australia
  • The developing jurisprudence in the criminal law
  • Major issues facing administration of criminal justice
  • Developments and proposals in both policy and practice
