For Lawyers:
Strategies to develop a social media presence
(QUEENSLAND)

Looking for last-minute CPD points? The Asian Australian Lawyers Association (Twitter: @OrgAALA) will be holding a free knowledge session on Thursday 23 March 2017 at the Queensland Law Society House on how to grow your professional presence on LinkedIn and Twitter. This session is open to all lawyers and law students.

The session will cover:

  • Legal issues
    what to be aware of
  • LinkedIn
what you can be doing to up your LinkedIn game
  • Twitter
    deep dive + practical component

social media platforms used by law firms

Why Tweet? While the benefits of developing your professional presence on LinkedIn are clear, there's often a hesitation to engage with other forms of social media. This session will include a deep dive into Twitter where there is a vibrant Australian legal community clustered around the #auslaw hashtag. Bring along your phone or laptop and we'll work through some of the functions on LinkedIn and Twitter...and you never know - we might get some activity going around the #qldlaw hashtag.

The CPD scheme in Queensland is based on self-assessment.  If the session is relevant to your professional development and practice of the law, then you can claim one unit for each hour of attendance excluding refreshment breaks.

We hope you can join us.
