AALA - 2018 QLD Branch Meeting and National AGM

Dear Member,

The Queensland Branch of the Asian Australian Lawyers Association Inc. (AALA) gives notice of, and invites you to, the 2018 Queensland Branch Meeting of the Association (QLD Branch Meeting). The QLD Branch Meeting will be held:

Time: 5.00pm AEST (for a 5.30pm start)

Agenda

The agenda for the QLD Branch Meeting will be as follows:

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the AALA will be held immediately after the QLD Branch Meeting at 6.30pm.

Notice of Meeting and Proxy Form

Members of the AALA are requested to attend the QLD Branch Meeting to:

• hear the new QLD Branch Committee declared by the Chairperson; and
• consider any other items of business.

Non-members are welcome to attend the QLD Branch Meeting and the AALA's AGM but will not be eligible to vote on the items of business (see further details below on eligibility to vote).

Members may appoint another Member to attend and vote at the QLD Branch Meeting, as the Member’s proxy, by completing a Proxy Form. Completed Proxy Forms must be returned to the Branch Secretary by 5.30pm on Tuesday, 2 October 2018.

Eligibility to vote

A person is entitled to vote at the QLD Branch Meeting and AGM if the person has fully paid up their membership fee for the financial year ending 30 June 2019.

If required, elections for the positions of Branch President and Branch Secretary, and a single election for Ordinary Committee Member positions of the Queensland Branch Committee will be held at the QLD Branch Meeting.

Nominations close 6.00pm (AEST) on Tuesday 2 October 2018.  Please send your nominations for Branch Committee positions to the Secretary of the Queensland Branch by email to catherine.chiang@hpw.qld.gov.au.
