The AALA invites Members to attend its 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, 27 November at 6.30pm AEDT (5.30pm AEST / 3.30pm AWST).

Branch Meetings of each State Branch will be held immediately prior at 5.30pm AEDT (4.30pm AEST / 2.30pm AWST).

Formal business

Members are requested to attend the AGM to:

  • confirm the minutes of the 2018 AGM;
  • consider and table the 2019 Annual Report;
  • elect Executive Committee Office Holders and Ordinary Members;
  • vote on proposed changes to the Constitution; and
  • consider any other items of business.

Refer to the Notice of AGM which sets out the business to be conducted.

Proxies

Members may appoint another Member to attend and vote at the AGM, as proxy, by completing a Proxy Form. Completed Proxy Forms must be returned to the Secretary by 7.00pm AEDT on Tuesday, 26 November 2019.

Non-members are welcome to attend the AGM but will not be eligible to vote on the items of business.

Eligibility to vote

A person is entitled to vote at the AGM if the person is a Renewed Member or New Member, but not an Associate Member (see further details in the Notice regarding eligibility to vote).

If you were a member prior to 1 July 2019 but have not paid the membership fee for the financial year ending 30 June 2020, it is still not too late to renew your membership to vote at the 2019 AGM. You can renew by logging on and following the prompts to complete your details and make payment by 7.00pm AEDT on 12 November 2019.

Elections

Separate elections for President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, and a single election (if required) for Ordinary Members of the Executive Committee will be held at the AGM.

Nominations close 7.00pm AEDT on Monday, 25 November 2019.

Please register your attendance at the 2019 AGM by 7.00pm AEDT on Monday, 25 November 2019 by clicking below and specifying the relevant State Branch of which you are a member.
