In conjunction with O’Sullivan Davies Lawyers and Swarup Asthana Lawyers, the AALA is pleased to host a Webinar on common situations faced by Asian Australian families in the Australian Family Law system when there is a separation.

Topics include how gifts and loans are treated in property settlement, the impact of overseas assets on property settlement, dowry, economic abuse and the law, and how the Family Court deals with the international relocation of children.

The webinar is part of AALA’s National Digital Events Series. MC’d by Sherlene Heng (AALA WA Branch Committee member), the panellists include:

  • Sabrina Tan (AALA WA Branch Committee member), Rachel Harkness and Victor Tham - family lawyers at O’Sullivan Davies Lawyers, a specialist family law firm in Perth, Western Australia (Doyle’s Guide, Ranked First Tier Family Law 2012 – 2020); and
  • Molina Asthana (AALA National Vice-President),  Principal of Swarup Asthana Lawyers and Business Advisors and board member at the Law Institute of Victoria and the Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand
For NSW, Qld and Vic practitioners, if this seminar is relevant to your practice needs or professional development, you can claim 1 CPD point; for WA practitioners, an application for 1 point in Substantive Law is pending.
