AALA – National Digital Events Series – Career Workshop Series – Legal Careers in the Asia-Pacific

The AALA invites you to attend the third session of the Career Workshop Series (as part of the National Digital Events Series), on the topic of Legal Careers in the Asia-Pacific.

The Career Workshop Series is an initiative specifically targeted at law students and graduates from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. It is intended to equip them with tangible career-oriented skills and knowledge, in order to help them overcome the additional obstacles faced in the job-hunting process associated with being from CALD backgrounds, and indeed, leverage their cultural backgrounds as a source of competitive advantage.

Following on from the success of the previous two events in the Career Workshop Series, this next event is designed to provide you with more information about a career in the Asia-Pacific region, beyond Australia. Students and lawyers from all around Australia are welcomed to join this free event on Zoom. 

If you are considering a legal career in Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, Mainland China, Japan, or other areas in the APAC region, and would like to find out more about working and living in Asia, come along to this unique panel event to hear from established legal professionals talk about their international legal careers, including:

• Shojeeb Alam, Lawyer at Ashurst;
• Yang Yang, Solicitor at King & Wood Mallesons;
• James Wan, Head of IP at Harrison.AI; and
• Wilfred Ho, Counsel at Skadden.

There will be a 1-hour panel discussion, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A.
