Journeys and Destinations: Migrant Experiences and Migration Law

The Asian Australian Lawyers Association and the Society of African Australian Lawyers Inc have teamed up, to open up about the challenges and varied experiences migrants have when migrating to Australia. You will hear from an experienced barrister who has a particular interest in judicial review of migration decisions in the federal courts, a lawyer from a community legal centre who regularly assists migrants who arrive in Australia on humanitarian grounds, and a current law student who arrived in Australia on a humanitarian visa. Learn about the legal landscapes many migrants are made to navigate, the journeys they are made to take, and how these laws impact their lived experiences.

Time: 5:30pm to 7:30pm

Date: Thursday, 25 November 2021

Venue: Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Brookfield Tower 2, Level 6, 123 St Georges Terrace Perth

If you wish to attend online, please let us know by reply to your confirmation of registration email.
