NSW Special BrANCH Meeting (SBM)

Time: 5:45pm for a 6:00pm start
Purpose for SBM
The NSW Branch Meeting (AGM) was on 23 November 2021.
As there were no nominations received for NSW Branch Secretary before the closing date of 21 November 2021, nominations were received from the floor. It was also resolved that the NSW Committee will appoint a Vice-President. Accordingly, for the first time in NSW, the President will sit alongside a State Branch Vice-President and be assisted by the State Branch Secretary. Nominations were also received on the floor for the position of Vice-President. To ensure a fair election process, the NSW Committee resolved to open up the two positions for further nominations.
Eligibility to nominate
All NSW Members who were Members on or before 6 December 2021, are eligible to nominate themselves for either or both of the positions.
Nominations must be submitted by Sunday 19 December 2021. The nomination form can be found on the event site (below) and must be emailed to the Returning Officer at nsw@aala.org.au
Position Descriptions
AALA PD 2021 - Branch President.pdf : the Position Description for the State Vice President (please note the Position Description is for the State Branch President and the responsibility of the State Vice President will be to assist the State Branch President in fulfilling its role).

In addition to the Position Description(s), it is expected that the Branch Vice President and Secretary be committed to the role for a two year term or with a vision to nominate for NSW State President or a National Executive position for 2023. Further, it is expected that nominees be able to attend the NSW Branch Planning Meeting for 2022 which will be held online on Saturday 11 December, 12 - 4pm. If you are not able to attend, an Agenda will be circulated beforehand and all nominees (and Members) are encouraged to submit their comments.
Date of Special Branch Meeting (SBM)
The date of the SBM will be on Tuesday 21 December 2021, hosted online.
Registration to attend the SBM will close Monday 20 December 2021.
Proxies
Proxies may be submitted and must be submitted Monday 20 December 2021. The proxy form can be found on the event site and must be emailed to the Returning Officer at nsw@aala.org.au.
