VIC - Lunar New Year Dinner 2026

The Victorian branch of the AALA warmly invites you to join us in ringing in the Year of the Horse with its Lunar New Year Dinner!

Please enjoy an evening of food, fun and festivities in the company of colleagues and friends.

We are pleased to announce that Professor Andrew Godwin, Associate Director of the Asian Law Centre, University of Melbourne, will be the keynote speaker for the event and his speech will be titled 'The Asian Within Me'. 

The ticket price includes a sumptuous banquet dinner, Chinese tea, wine, and soft drinks.

Details of the event are as follows:

The event will be free seating (no assigned seat). You can book tickets as individuals. If you would like to book as a group, then you can reserve bookings a table for ten people. 

The set menu includes:

San Choy Bow
Crispy Prawn Spring Roll, Steamed Dim Sum
Chicken & Sweet Corn Soup
Chicken with Mandarin Sauce
Beef with Black Pepper, Garlic & Shallots Special Fried Rice
Banana Fritter & Ice Cream
Housemade Almond Cookies

As the dinner includes a set menu, there will be meat (including beef and potentially pork), nuts, seafood, gluten and dairy present. There will also be drinks.
