Victorian Asian Australian Lawyers Association and Maurice Blackburn held its second instalment of the Court Advocacy Series on 30 May 2019. County Court Commercial Division Judicial Registrars Sharon Burchell and My Anh Tran presented on interlocutory advocacy.
We were treated to a behind-the-scenes perspective of the Judicial Registrars who provided invaluable tips on oral and written interlocutory advocacy as well as negotiation. It was an information-rich session which covered a substantial amount of practical content in a very concise, engaging and accessible way.
Their Honours said that promoting cultural diversity in the law is something that is close to their hearts. We thank them for their ongoing support and are delighted to announce that AALA member Gillian Lee is the successful applicant to undertake an internship in the County Court Commercial Division with the Judicial Registrars.
We look forward to the next part of the Court Advocacy Series.
Special thanks to Judicial Registrars Burchell and Tran, as well as Jenny Tran and the team at Maurice Blackburn Lawyers for jointly holding the event with AALA Victoria.
